Hi Guys, Just noticed that our s10es call for a special power steering fluid, GM PN 2700-2509. I do not see any references for that PN on the web, or remember any reason it is particularly special. Alternatively, I do recall that the s10e's "A/C" oil has to be a special non-co...

Are the Leaf batteries pouch cells? They appear to show a similar dimension. You can buy the whole car for $7000 , of course it seems a shame to pull apart a perfectly good electric car for it's batteries. Range wise? I dont think I want to be driving an s10 for 400 miles, a g...

Hi Eric, Thanks for the input. I think the 18650 cells are a better choice for several reasons. The Prismatic cells, often called "Yellow Bricks", don't have the energy density of 18650's and you can't even fit a 100 AH pack in our battery box. However, at 3.2 volts per cell,...

Ok gang coolant does matter. It must be Dexcool and will say it on the container. AutoZone or Oriellys, yes its typically orange. The conversion to NiMH from lead on the 1997s were not an easy modification. The programming of the BPCM alone was not enough to make it all work....

Maybe it is off-topic, but there was also a specific coolant needed for the S10-EV. I got a gallon jug of it long ago. I thought, that's strange, it looks like the label was put on top of another label. So when I peeled it off, it was a Havoline coolant (IIRC), rebranded as sp...

Step one would be to check for power and ground and a pulse resulting from each output with a voltmeter. You will need to jack up only one wheel and spin it very slowly in neutral, otherwise the motor itself won't turn over, rather the differential will. Once, I had the encode...
