Chris Reeves Fri, 1 Mar 2013 00:42:03 -0800 (PST) 2013 Thread size 1
After seven years, I've come to a point where I can't keep my truck running alone. Either the pack fan or the airflow sensor have failed. The pack needs to be dropped and charged up to a level where the Magna charger can take over. Is there anyone in the Los Angeles area who c...

"Just installed new battery pack with lithium batteries. First trouble codes sent me replacing the PIM. No problem, i had a spare. That fixed the interlock codes, leaving me with only the state of charge codes. When I first powered the truck up, the trans indicator was stuck o...

Brian: You have a critical fault being read by the bias control module. The DTC's should be in the 030 - 040's range. Surprized nothing shows up. It should at least register in the DTC history for the drive control module. Might be your temp sensor which should read reasonably...

Yes a senior moment. The RAV leveling is two hours I should remember that since I have watched it many times. Sometimes the balance current goes to 2 amps then back to three. Even if you figure the full 3 amp rate for two hours this is six amp hours spread over two hours. The...

Hi Don: I sent you both the raw data and plots (offline), and I can make it available to others for study should anyone doubt. A short summary from more than 6000 lines in the spreadsheet: Start time: 14:43:19, resting pack voltage 358.0 (vehicle ignition on), initial charge c...

Darell's?RAV4 EV and mine do a 2 hour "leveling" at 3A. from here: http://www.evnut.com/rav_faq_owner.htm "The charger will stop charging for a few seconds, then come back on at the lower current for two hours." There may be difference in software though... ___________________...

Hello Greg Just to let everyone know Greg and I have had quite a few exchanges of emails off list over the years. Greg your S-10 must have picked up a Canadian time for balancing. Seriously I have never seen a two hour 5 amp maintenance charge. Maybe its the deep your cycling...

I don't write often, but occasionally try to offer insight. To correct a factual error: the S10 EV equalization cycle lasts for 2 hours at 5 amps. I just finished recording one which was initiated on purpose with the Tech 2 scan tool, while recording all module voltages, tempe...

First off and I am not one who came up with this quote. The NiMH battery is one of the most difficult chemistries to establish if it fully charged. Its a complex algorithm of voltage drop combined with a temperature rise it will then have reached full capacity. As the voltage...

Greetings, Unlike many on this list, I am not a capable mechanic diving into fixing my '98 S10-ev. Can someone inform me if I can source a battery pack fan, as mine seems to be making a great deal of noise when coming on of late? Rare to have such warm weather in Seattle but I...

I have a 1997 S-10 with the NiMH batteries. About 23000 miles on the clock. After several months of no problem charging, now the truck will only charge for about 4 to 5 minutes at a time and then shut off. The charger sometimes shows standby sometime E2. There are no error cod...

To Ryan, ???? I no longer own a S10 electric truck. But when I had mine I replaced the bosch pump. From memory I believe the guy that had extra parts is Don Blazer. I do not have his contact info any more. I believe he has a body shop. I also got capacitors from him. Nice guy....

The one with the cap over the bed?is also clearly missing the PIM under the hood. It could be cleverly hidden inside the battery box in the bed, but unlikely. If anyone goes to Chamberburg,PA to personally inspect the vehicles,?addtional condition updates would be appreciated?...
