Thanks for the advice Kevin. I noticed those are designed as UPS batteries, so wondering how well they hold up in an EV? I actually found some batteries made by Werker that are designed for mobile applications...very similar to B&B batteries that are made for EV's. They are 12...

Hi Guys, If you had read my posts last week, Noah is my brother so perhaps you can draw the connection between his questions and mine since it's the same truck. There is one thing that I was mistaken about regarding the truck. They thought the truck had 1,000, but it turns out...

Hi Noah, Welcome to the group. I have a Lead Acid 97 S10E. If you haven't done so already, go to the archives and read up on what others have done. I used Deka Unigy 12AVR-75 batteries. Are they a good choice? Time will tell I guess. I did have 3 bad batteries. I replaced them...

Hi all, My brother and I just picked up a '97 EV S10. The story is, it was owned by a company that was testing different batteries in the truck. It has 15k miles on it. We took it for $2000. Here's the deal: It has no batteries. They replaced the original charger with a progra...

I like the idea on the tilt bed. What kind of range do you get with that battery selection? I've also noticed some guys talking about a tech tool. What's that? I have a OBD-II code reader, but i assumed that it's not going to understand anything from an EV. haha... On Wed, Nov...

Hi Isaac, With a lot of work, I put Deka Unigy 12AVR-75 batteries in my truck. The cost was around $4600.00. They are all in the box, after I modified it. I cut the top of the box and raised it about 3" to accommodate the taller batteries. I also added a tilt bed and can now a...

Your original post didn't tell us much. Are you converting from NiMH to PbA? if so, yes, you need to reprogram the BPCM. Look back in the archive here to my post on Feb 19 detailing two different approaches to a PbA retrograde. If you have schlepped a new set of PbA batteries...

Hello Steve Yes hard to believe you could get 300,000 cycles considering the added heat at top of charge. You would think that alone would reduce a lot of cycle life. You would have to factor in calendar life as well. At some point age is going take its toll. However if you ke...

Don, I took the graph you referenced and multiplied the cycle number by the mileage of a full cycle. I used 70 miles when new. I didn't factor the loss over time so the real numbers would be less than calculated. but here are the numbers: 100% DOD = 70 miles x 700 cycles = 49,...
