Actually, the NiMH EV1 has 26 batteries, just like the PbA. The nominal voltage of the NiMH EV1 is 343 volts, whereas the PbA car is nominally 312 volts. The NiMh Ovonic battery does have 11 cells, 13.2 volts nominal, but it is the same size as the 12.0 v Panasonic PbA battery...
