Hello Niel I have been in the collision industry for 34 years. Jeff is correct the suppliers are under contract to GM and the agreement is they will not make this part for anyone else. I would still give it a try though to contact B & B. You have nothing to lose inquiring them...

The Gen 2 certainly does have GFCI protection, but I am not sure of the Gen 1. I think the breaker built into the Gen 1 is probably to comply with the National Electric Code article 625.23 "For electric vehicle supply equipment rated more than 60 amperes or more than 150 volts...
