[S10-EV] HTCM

Good catch, Don, Kevin, my unit was from a ’98. And, BTW, I understand there are 75+ ‘97s free range and only 12 or so ’98s. If anyone has better numbers I would be interested in knowing them. Steve From: Don Blazer [mailto:[email removed]] Sent: Tuesday, July 17, 2018 7:20 PM...

There are two part numbers for the HTCM 1997 27004713 1998 # 27004714 So if your going to try a used one, make sure its year correct The last time I checked these were 600 dollars in 2009 Really Miss Jeff but what he told me in 2009 was he only was aware of two legitimate HTCM...

[S10-EV] NiMH 26.4 kWh

Hi Folks, Does anyone have the battery data sheets for the Ovonic NiMH and Panasonic 1260U PbA modules? I would like copies if anyone has them. I also recall the NiMH traction pack being rated at 26.4 kWh, but do not recall seeing a rating on the Panasonic 1260U PbA traction p...

Hi Kevin, This is noble work on your behalf. These trucks can be difficult to keep in line. Good diagnosis. I don’t know how other list members feel, but I enjoy reading the process of diagnosis as it’s a good education piece for possible future needs. And, great to see the he...

My problem is my truck will not charge. After about a minute, the charger displays E2 or flashes "Delay". The problem is the pack blower will not run. I have 2 codes. 258, BP Blower air flow sensor circuit low and 267, Battery thermal module air flow performance. One of the se...

I would expect DTC131 to set in the PCM if the BCA measured voltage and the BPCM voltage over UART do not agree in the situation you're describing. If you were to try rewiring the BPCM to measure all 27 modules between J1-1 and J1-32 then you would expect to see BPCM DTC219 wh...

If the idea of paralleling 2- 60 AH packs works, you should get 100 mile range. In a message dated 8/24/2017 11:46:39 A.M. Eastern Daylight Time, [email removed] writes: Are the Leaf batteries pouch cells? They appear to show a similar dimension. You can buy the whole car for...

Are the Leaf batteries pouch cells? They appear to show a similar dimension. You can buy the whole car for $7000 , of course it seems a shame to pull apart a perfectly good electric car for it's batteries. Range wise? I dont think I want to be driving an s10 for 400 miles, a g...

Although I like the specs on these pouch cells, I haven't found a good price on them. After a quick search, It seems a 60 AH pack is between $7,000 to $21,000 using 3.2 V- 30 AH pouch cells at $52.00 each. To have a range of 400-450 miles, you're looking at 5 or 6 times that c...

Re: Lithium conversion. If finances allow I would strongly recommend looking at making your own modules from the new generation "pouch cells" (1200 amp/cell discharge rate would give outstanding performance. Charge times are minutes not hours. Cycles are up around 15000. Densit...

Hi Eric, Thanks for the input. I think the 18650 cells are a better choice for several reasons. The Prismatic cells, often called "Yellow Bricks", don't have the energy density of 18650's and you can't even fit a 100 AH pack in our battery box. However, at 3.2 volts per cell,...

Hi Kevin and all, I'll chime in here.I pretty much consider successfully messing with the trucks soft firm ware as an impossibility since i wouldnt know what i was doing. so you'd pretty much have to fool the BPCM into thinking all is well in the battery box. One of the though...

Ok gang coolant does matter. It must be Dexcool and will say it on the container. AutoZone or Oriellys, yes its typically orange. The conversion to NiMH from lead on the 1997s were not an easy modification. The programming of the BPCM alone was not enough to make it all work....

Hello all, Here is how I laid out my pack. They are taped together to make "modules". Only 1st level is used. I will be looking for some kind of foam rubber to lay on top, to keep them from bouncing up, with the lid compressing that. Currently, I am spoofing the 26 12v sense l...

Wow Jose, that is spectacular! You know, I had figured too that it was possible for mere mortals to change them, but was just too fearful. It just shows that 90% of the job is really just starting it. Also, it was a factor in me selling the truck, as I would never had trusted...
