[S10-EV] s10e special Power Steering fluid
Hi Guys, Just noticed that our s10es call for a special power steering fluid, GM PN 2700-2509.
I do not see any references for that PN on the web, or remember any reason it is particularly special. Alternatively, I do recall that the s10e's "A/C" oil has to be a special non-conductive that all electrically driven EV A/C systems use to avoid ground faults.
That leads me to wonder if the power steering fluid could have the same effect, hence my caution. I also understand that most newer EVs use electric motors to assist the steering rather than fluid based systems as our s10e's style, so there does not seem to be a modern cross over fluid specially for EVs, at lease best I can tell. Any chance someone has some insight on the s10e's acceptable alternatives to the old GM PN just in case? Thanks,
