Hi! When working with the 97-98 factory made GM S10 EVs, do most of you use a
genuine OEM Tech 2? Does anyone use the cheap clones? >From my research online, it seems that clones can do everything the genuine
OEMs can do as long as they have the GM 32MB flash card. But all these
youtube videos and other websites are based on "normal" ICE cars, so I am
curious if anyone is using a Tech 2 clone with any success? My previous
experience with troubleshooting cars has been with my $20 bluetooth OBDII
sensor, so I have never used either a genuine or clone Tech 2 before. This is the current clone that I am looking at (and kind of optimistic
about):

I had the OEM Tech 2 and bought it on ebay for $400.00. It came with the case and all accessories. It still had the protective plastic on the screen. I have no experience with the clone. Had my 1997 S10E for 10 years and just sold it on ebay about a year ago. It's in Germany now. Good luck!KevinBear Delaware -----Original Message-----
