[S10-EV] Calb 60s
Neil, Sounds great to collaborate! As I said, this is a back burner project for me. I have CA60s. Got them from EVTV. 100 in series provides very close voltage (320v) and total power (19KW) (and SOC calcs) to the original pba pack, with about half the volume and weight, the current (amps) cabability is higher as well. The 60 is how many continuous amps in one hour (ah). These cells can do 600amps (10C) for 30 seconds with very little voltage sag. Our trucks won't draw more than 400 amps (fuse). Or if you want to consider the motor as 85KW, thats about 265amps. Its all about how much you step on the pedal, and how much of a load there is. The software allows for 440 amps max (I'm not sure for how long), but reduces power (to motor) as voltage drops or sags. The cells are the same width as the old ones, and fit pretty good with some room left in the pack. I'll post a pucture later. This lifepo4 chemistry is not so energy dense as OEM li-ion cars, but is quite safe, and have great current capability without the need for cooling. They will need to be above freezing, if charging/discharging.
