[S10-EV] Our S10 for Parts or Repair.

Noah and I bought an S10ev not too long ago, but with life
circumstances, and a few headaches we've decided to move onward to
other projects. I'll try to offer as much information about the truck
as I can. Someone who understands these trucks far better than we do,
can hopefully revive this one. Or at least use many of the valuable
parts to keep another one alive. The good: It's a 1997 S10ev lead acid truck.
We have all of the documentation from military (including maintenance
records and mileage logs), along with the original birth certificate
from GM. I'm not sure how many of these trucks still have their GM
Genuine Certificate or not.
The truck is in good shape, and has all of the original equipment
including the half tonneau cover, gas heater, manual, etc.
We have a paddle charger to go with the truck.
It has good tires, body and interior are in good shape, good glass, and no rust.
The bed of the truck has been converted to tilting for easier battery access.
About 15,000 miles on the truck. The bad: We never got to a point where we could drive it, but we were told it
was running prior to removal of the batteries. When we bought the
truck it did not have batteries. Our first step was tilting the bed
of the truck. From that point we never made it any further, and now
we both have other things that demand our attention.
Here is what we were told when we bought the truck:
- bad DC-DC converter for the power steering pump and AC.
- no batteries
- battery box has been slightly modified (the top is extended upwards
a couple of inches). The Ugly: During the truck's stay at a public works lot the yard was broken into
and components stolen for scrap. They stole the BMS and other
electronics from the battery box. The rest of the box is still there. I did manage to locate the sole, last, BMS for the battery box at a
Chevy dealer for $500 if someone wanted to buy it to try to put this
truck back together. The truck is currently located near Denver, CO. I'd be happy to give any more information I can about the truck, and
help to arrange any transport. Thanks,
:Isaac:
