[S10-EV] My 1998 S10E Lives! (And I still want to sell it)

Hi, everybody. My 1998 S10E is now charging and running, after replacment of the
auxillary battery. The old battery was two years old, and its voltage,
while still sufficent to power the instruments and radio, had apparently
declined too far for charging. I am deeply grateful and indebted to fellow S10E owner Dave Skweir for
coming over with his scan tool and his help in diagnosing the trouble,
and clearing the codes so that the truck would charge. Amazingly
enough, the voltage of the pack was still over 300V, even after sitting
uncharged for a month. Since I will be moving to a much more mountainous terrain and cold
climate, I'm still wanting to sell my truck. Up until I retired last month, this was my daily driver for the last 5
years, commuting to work, and its range is approximately 40-45 miles,
when driven at 55mph. The pack does appear to be unbalanced, as the
"battery life" light comes on after about 20mi. The pack was converted
to NiMH by EvBones in December 2004, and the truck was registered in
California in Jan 2005. The truck has both a ZEV Parking sticker and HOV
permit. The truck was originally owned by the State of Georgia, who
auctioned it to the man from whom I purchased it. Besides the battery
upgrade, the following parts have been replaced in the 5 years I've
owned the truck: the APCM (06/05), the battery box blower motor/fan
(08/05), the left front axle and ball joint (09/05), the water pump, Aux
battery and and added refrigerant (05/08), the radiator/condenser fan
buffer and fan motor (07/08 - EVBones replacement buffer). In addition,
some minor body damage caused by a falling ladder while the truck was
parked was professionally repaired (11/06), and the tires were replaced
(07/06) at 19.2k miles. And now, the auxiliary battery has been replaced
(4/10). The truck now has 56k+ miles and the body and interior are in
great condition, the seat having been covered with a protective towel
since acquisition. The truck bed does show some paint wear, but no rust.
The original radio has been replaced with the stock GM CD/Radio combo.
As far as I know, everything on the truck works; however, I've never
tested the diesel fired heater. The mass airflow sensor was replaced
when the pack was upgraded in 12/04, and once again (date unknown). I'm offering the truck with a complete set of service manuals, two
working Gen II chargers that have been "portabilized", one mounted on a
dolly, a nonworking Gen I charger, small paddle to large paddle
converters, and 3 spare tires (the original Tigerpaws with about 3/16"
tread), here in Costa Mesa, CA, sold as is, best offer, you driveaway or
haul. You can contact me, Stephen (Upgeya) Pew, at misc [at]
