We want to support you GM.
Many of your supporters are unsure as to why valuable technical resources
were expended in furthering the hydrogen hype.
You once owned the BEV market. Then arrogantly (as I might add) squandered
your valuable lead to the offshore competition.
Finally concluding the program by angering those highly vocal supporters
of the GM EV1 when you elected to "recycle" their
beloved vehicles by having them unceremoniously
crushed. A decision that gained you considerable attention at a difficult
time.
I understand. GM cannot be influenced. And "god love
these folks" for their determination.*
Following the broad epiphany of hydrogen fueled vehicles being a very
distant reality, our Federal Government has elected
to independently review the practicality of BEV's, and recent advances
in PHEV (Plug Hybrid Electric Vehicle) technology.
Quoted from "Motor Trend magazine, June 2006, pg. 94" Interview
with GM CEO Rick Wagoner:
"His worst decision?"...'Axing the EV1 electric-car program and not
putting the right
resources into hybrids. It didn't affect profitability, but it
did affect image.'"
You claim of spending the big B on the EV1 program, and it failed. You
forgot to include an "S" after that "B".
GM used the EV1 as a cash loss dumping ground for other failed programs,
including the cost of axing the EV1.
When the movie "Who Killed the Electric Car" was released, GM purchased sponsored search words on google
to spin their poor decision in axing the EV1 program.
